I am a cyclist

The Bassin de Pompey has more than 40 km of cycle routes that criss-cross its territory. These include major routes such as the Voie Bleue, linking Luxembourg to Lyon, or the Boucle de la Moselle, offering a circuit around Nancy.
Secondary routes allow you to get away from it all in the valleys of the Mauchère and Amezule rivers.
You can also find here the services dedicated to cycle tourism and cycling.

Cycle routes in the Bassin de Pompey

The Voie Bleue® (Blue Way)

The Voie Bleue® is a 700 km route from Luxembourg to Lyon. Following the Moselle and then the Saône, the route offers a variety of landscapes and discoveries, both historical, cultural and gastronomic.

It crosses the Pompey Basin from north to south, and offers a variety of discoveries:

the village of Millery, a bucolic stopover in a village that still has some traces of the Templars' stay
the town of Custines and its Gothic church
the town of Pompey, with its interactive tour of 100 years of steelmaking know-how, presenting the factory that made the beams for the Eiffel Tower
the town of Lay-Saint-Christophe, nicknamed the "village of 1000 fountains
the town of Champigneulles and its brewing know-how.

The Loop of the Moselle

The Boucle de la Moselle® offers an 85 km cycling circuit, linking the towns of Liverdun, Nancy and Toul. A variant of the Voie Bleue®, this itinerary offers an easy route (suitable for children aged 10 and over), sites steeped in history, remarkable panoramas, gentle nature, dynamic towns, (very) good local produce, accommodation at all prices. The ingredients of the "Family Holiday" recipe are all there.

It crosses the Bassin de Pompey in the towns of Liverdun, Pompey and Frouard, before joining the Voie Bleue® route. The cyctourists will be able to appreciate the medieval city of Liverdun, its leisure area and to taste the famous madeleine.

The greenways of the Mauchère and Amezule

The Bassin de Pompey offers complementary cycle routes along the valleys of the Mauchère and Amezule rivers.

From the Voie Bleue®, cycling enthusiasts can discover a rural landscape, punctuated by fields and orchards where the rivers thread their way through the Lorraine hillsides.

Along the Mauchère, you will discover the towns and villages of Custines, Malleloy, Faulx and Montenoy, where several local producers and craftsmen have set up shop.

Along the Amezule, you will find a small local heritage dedicated to water and the use of water (fountains, wash houses, mills...).
